RE: Devil's Gate Reservoir Sediment Removal and Management Project

Dear Ms. Farber:

Thank you for the opportuity to comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Devil's Gate Reservoir Sediment Removal and Management Project.

The Draft Environmental Impact is inadequate because it does not adequately consider the devasting effect this project will have on recreational users in Hahamongna Watershed Park. The DEIR states that the impacts on recreation will not be significant, but the massive amounts of truck traffic, noise, dust and air pollutions will be extremely detriment to all the recreational users in Hahamongna Watershed Park, including disc golfers, hikers, bird-watchers, equestrians, and people who seek only a quiet place to enjoy nature.

Questions:How did the County assess the recreational impacts to judge that there would be no signficant impact? What surveys did you conduct? What users or user groups did you consult? What steps will you take to reduce impacts on recreational users in Hahamongna Watershed Park?

(Here state your personal connection or knowledge of Hahamongna Watershed Park.) I enjoy playing disc golf in Hahamongna Watershed Park, but all the disturbance caused by this project will destroy the atmosphere and the environment there.

I urge the County to redraft the Environmental Impact Report to fully evaluate the recreational impacts that the project will cause and to change your project to reduce or eliminate those impacts and other negative impacts of the project.

Sincerely yours,
