Who is he? He has been the Pasadena representative on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California since 1985. This man is quite humble yet quite substantial. He has devoted himself to enlightening anyone who is interested in where our water comes from, its quality, and its protection without fanfare. He is always present when there is any question about our water.

What I like about Tim most is the way he explains things. The way Tim Brick can subtly make you care about this subject, water. No one else has increased awareness or inspired activists in protection and shared education like Time Brick.

He is a passionate speaker on the subject. I have attended many events and conferences where he brought to the table all the things that may have been overlooked. For instance, Hahamongna and its watershed jewel in the crown of Pasadena.

On December 31, 2012 his term as Pasadena’s representative ended. He will be replaced by former Pasadena City Manager Cynthia Kurtz. To fill the shoes of someone like Tim Brick is a weighty endeavor. Although I have confidence in the choice of Ms. Kurtz appointment I cannot help but feel a little bit sad that Tim Brick is no longer watching over us.

Please join me in a salute to Tim Brick and all that he has done. He has made us aware of trouble when it exists and shown us the right direction to go in to solve it. The Pasadena City Council will convene on February 25th, 2013 to appoint Ms. Kurtz.

I think it fitting to show some love for former director Tim Brick.

Here is Tim Brick speaking before the Pasadena City Council as a representative of the nonprofit Arroyo Seco Foundation in his typical way (so wonderfully smart and plain speaking):::
